Renewal of Vows 4

________ and ________, when you first joined hands and ________ years ago, you did not know where life would take you. You promised to love, honor, and cherish one another through all things. Life has surely brought you both wonderful blessings and difficult tribulations.

This evening, when you renew your marriage vows, you can look forward with confidence to a new era in your life. This is an evening when you reassure each other, expressing to each other deep loyalty, loving trust, and complete honesty as the basis of your marriage relationship from this day forward.

As you come here today to reaffirm your wedding vows, and as you reflect back over the years as husband and wife.  I ask each of you this question:

P.: ________, do you intend to continue to share with ________ your joys and your sorrows and all that the years will bring? If so, say “I do.”

________: I do.

P.: ________, do you intend to continue to share with ________ your joys and your sorrows and all that the years will bring? If so, say “I do.”

________: I do.

________ and ________, as you this day renew your marriage vows which united you as husband and wife, and as you this day affirm your faith and love for one another, I would ask that you always remember to cherish each other as special and unique individuals, that you respect the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of one another. Be able to forgive, do not hold grudges, and live each day that you may share it together—as you shall remain each other’s home, comfort, and refuge, your marriage strengthened by your love and respect for each other.

In the presence of God, in this place, ________ and ________ have given their consent and made their marriage vows to each other. They have declared their renewal of vows. You are husband and wife.

Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder.

May Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit keep you in His light and truth and love now and forever. Amen.

You may kiss!
